three flights, five hotels, rolled in a packing cube the whole way. shook out and wore it every night, one touch-up with the hotel iron on low. silk is tougher than its reputation suggests.
Cold water, a drop of gentle shampoo, five minutes of swishing, roll in a towel, hang. Twenty minutes of actual effort per week and it comes out looking brand new every time. I dreaded the maintenance and it turned out to be a small ritual I weirdly enjoy.
Held the hem up to the light the day it arrived, the weave is dense and even, nothing like the thin silk I bought elsewhere for $70 that you could read through. The weight is the difference.
Less green than the listing, closer to eucalyptus grey. I prefer it, you should see both photos before deciding.
The lace at the join is the soft French kind, not the crunchy costume kind. I am the person who cuts every tag out of everything and I have not thought about this lace once while wearing it. That is the entire test and it passed.
Some purchases are furniture for a new chapter!! This is the nicest thing that has ever touched my skin and I sleep like someone with a clear conscience. The sage in morning light is worth the price alone.
I babied it for a week then relaxed, its been through the delicate cycle in a bag twice by accident and survived unmarked. One thread pulled at the hem from my rough heel skin, thats on me. Treat your feet before wearing long silk, lesson learnt.
Cardigan over it, sandals, farmers market!! Nobody blinked and two people asked about it. If you buy it only for sleep you are underusing it.
Tougher than its reputation, three weeks of daily wear
moves like watter.
I owned three cheap satin slips before this and reckoned silk was marketing. It is not. Satin sits on your skin like plastic wrap that happens to be smooth, this drinks up body heat and gives it back slow, so you are never clammy and never cold. The drawstring waist means it fits my shape instead of a mannequin shape. My satin ones went to the op shop within the fortnight. At $138 I expected to feel buyer's remorse and instead I am pricing the creme in a second size for my mum. If you are on the fence between this and another satin one, the fence is the problem.
Not one crackle in two dry weeks, my hair confirms.
The lace sits at the V where skin is fussiest and it lies completely flat, if lace usually ruins slips for you this one wont
Creases overnight in a heap, recovers on a hanger by morning.
Slept in it through a heat wave and then through a cold snap with the window cracked. Same slip, comfortable both weeks, which no other sleepwear I own has managed. If you and your partner fight over the thermostat this is marriage counseling for $138.
cold hand wash takes ten minutes, dries in two hours flat! ive ruined enough delicates to be paranoid and this one forgives my technique.
bought it for sleep before our lake weekend, wore it to dinner with a linen shirt open over it! the drawstring makes it read as a sundress.
dries in an afternoon, true to size, zero ironing if you hang it right.
The sage is close to the website photos by the window. Under my yellow bedroom lamp it reads a touch warmer, almost olive. That did not bother me, but I would not call it a pale mint. I ordered an L and the color is lovely against tan skin.
cold wash works
expensive until you touch it, then it recalibrates your whole scale of expensive
Held the sage up to a lamp before wearing it out of curiosity, opaque enough that nothing shows, true to size too. The creme I would guess needs more caution near bright windows. The fabric has real body to it, nothing flimsy about the way it hangs.
researched for a month before picking this as my entry piece. the weight and the finished seams taught me what the fuss is about, cheaper first-silks might have taught me the opposite.
strap stitching is immaculte.
husband bought it solo for my birthday and the size is right, im as suprised as you. slightly wish hed gone sage instead of guessing on my second choice color.
eczema-prone and this is the first nightwear in years that started zero flare-ups, but patch was on my back so your experience may vary!
Deliberated for six weeks, ordered on a low day, zero regret since. If you keep coming back to the tab, that is your answer.
