My previous go-to was a $20 balconette that dug a groove into my sternum. This sits lower and softer, small chest approved.
Snug enough to stay put through a whole day of moving around, loose enough that unhooking it at night isnt a relief, if that makes sense
The straps sit wider on the shoulder than my other bras and it changes everything for my posture! Bought it before a beach trip and it worked under every neckline I packed.
Held it up to the hotel window light checking for loose stitching, found none. Embroidery edges are properly locked down.
sigh. the low cup line just doesnt match my shape, theres a gap between me and the top edge of the lace that no strap adjusting fixes... my shallow chested friends this may just be us, not the bra. quality itself is fine, XL, returning for something with more angle.
The low cup line genuinely doesn't suit every shape, and shallow-chested isn't a flaw, it's just not this cut's match. Our Soft Spot or Second Skin sets angle the cup differently. Email us and we'll sort the exchange.
heads up for my fellow soft girls, this runs big. i ordered the XL going by the chart and the band closes on the tightest hook with room to spare, which means in a month of wear it will be useless. cups also sit away from me at the top. the lace is genuinely beautiful and the pink is exactly the shade i wanted, which makes this more annoying. reordering the L and crossing my fingers because when it fits right this could easily be a five star bra. sizing team please recheck your chart for the upper end.
Kennedy, the upper end of our chart is running big and your review is the clearest evidence yet. We're re-measuring the L to XL range now. The L exchange is on us, write to aniya@darette.com.
Everything about the bra earns five stars, the brief is where I have notes. It runs a full size smaller than the bra half, and the lace edge on the leg openings is snug on anyone with actual thighs. I fixed it by sizing the whole set up and letting the band do the work on its loosest hook, but you should not have to strategize underwear. Once sized right though, the set photographed beautifully in my bathroom mirror and survived two washes so far without the embroidery lifting.
The brief is cut fuller than most matching sets, actual coverage! Sits at the hip without rolling. Bra runs low cut so mind your tops.
Been screenshotting sets like this for a year... finally ordered one for my birthday month and the velvet finish lace is nicer than the screenshots.
if your planning to wear the ivory under thin white shirts, its close to skin tone on me but the lace texture shows a little. under anything with weight to it, gone. just know what youre getting. xl fits with room to breathe.
washed it in the sink at 10pm, hung it on the shower rod, dry before my alarm. thats the whole reveiw. the half cup shape took me a day to get used to, sits lower than my usual bras.
Found a long loose thread hanging off the cup seam right out of the bag. Snipped it and nothing unraveled, still, check yours before cutting anything
A loose thread out of the bag is a QC miss, plain and simple. Glad nothing unraveled, but check arrived pieces shouldn't be your job. Flagged with the factory this week.
stretches with me.
Was sceptical a half cup could hold anything in place. The springy wire does more work than expected, I reckon it holds better than my full coverage tshirt bra. No spillage when I bend to grab things off low shelves. M fits standard.
The one at the lingerie boutique near my office is $85 for the bra alone. This whole set with the same low cup line and embroidery cost half that. I inspected the seams looking for the catch. Have not found it. Small size fits my frame the same way theirs did.
Wire bounces back instead of stabbing 👌.
hooks glide, no wrestling, true to size btw
theres no padding at all which i knew going in. what suprised me is the lace alone still gives a clean line under fitted shirts, the bunny ear inner cup thing actually works. medium fits true
Ordered the S on holiday wifi expecting to regret it!! Chart was dead on, fits like it was made against my ribcage. The half cup line under a fitted dress is proper flattering. One wish, a third hook column for heavier days.
first embroidered bra that didnt need a breaking in period, soft from wear one. the L fit exactly like my measurements said it would.
The lift comes from under the cup, not from squeezing the sides, my ribs are grateful
Bought it as a set for a weekend away and the matching actually matters, the same velvet lace on both pieces reads intentional instead of assembled. Would have paid this much for the bra alone.
the half cup gives my A-adjacent chest an actual silhouette without a push up pad in sight. medium in this runs roomy fyi
90 degree week, no sweat trapped under the cups. thin but never flimsy
What you see on the product page is what shows up, the blush is exactly that soft pink. If you were burned by color roulette elsewhere, this one is safe. M fits standard.
It fits, feels light, and looks cute under a cardigan. Nothing dramatic, just a nice bra I actually reach for.
I put it in a mesh bag on delicate and let it dry over a towel. The lace stayed flat.
The stitching is cleaner than I expected for the price, especially around the cup edge. I would buy another color.
The bra
The thong
